With hilly terrains and vast parks, this particularly quiet neighborhood is a former kampung village in the suburb of Woodlands. And because it’s a border town, the ulu-ness makes it a lesser popular spot for weekend trips outdoors.
Not many people know that hidden in the enclaves of this serene neighborhood are splendid boardwalks, lush and peaceful parks, and deliciously good hawker spots that you just want to gatekeep from the city’s bustle.
Keep the senses open, and you might just be surprised with these five best things to do around Marsiling.
1. Take a Soothing Respite at the Tranquil Marsiling Park
With the recent revamp of the expansive Marsiling Park, there are more pockets of areas that are very pleasing as they are relaxing. Such is the Ribbon Playscape with the inviting Butterfly playground for children.
And if you feel parched, there’s a nearby Eatery for some refreshments. New boardwalks were also structured by the Marsiling Lake for a scenic view of the water and the iconic stone bridge.
The Mangrove was also made more accessible to introduce the public to its environmental importance. And of course, you can still take a vantage view from the Lookout Tower to fully appreciate the entire landscaping.

Ushered with lush greenery, large trees, and boulders, a fifteen-minute trek will reward you with the scenic views of the Woodlands estate from the top. While on your way up, take time to observe the teeming flora and fauna that heightens up the surrounding serenity.

With the gentle waves and the calming sea breeze, take a stroll at dusk for a moment of reflection. The park also has an adventure playground and a Skywalk that are attractive for older kids to strengthen their climbing and crossing skills.

The new Marsiling Mall features the stalwart food stalls from the former hawker centre and some new flavors to keep the food scene in the north vibrant. Locals were delighted with the re-opening of Yan Ji Seafood Soup for its full-bodied broth with meaty crayfish, crunchy prawns, minced meat, and grouper.
