Katong is a residential neighbourhood in the east of Singapore’s Central Region. Formerly by the sea before the land was reclaimed for housing and recreational purposes. 

With its history as a seaside city, it’s no surprise that it has a significant presence of great tourism, but it’s mostly known for being associated with the Eurasian and Penarakan communities, giving way to a mix of Chinese, English, and Penarakan culture.

1. Get a Taste of Local History at Eurasian Heritage Center

Eurasian communities are one of the smallest in Singapore, but they have been around the country for a long time, bringing their myriad of traditions and cultures.
