All foreigners who hold a valid Singapore Work Pass are eligible to apply for a personal loan from banks or Bugis Credit. You must be above 21 years old and have a local business employ you as a full-time employee.
You must also submit a residential tenancy agreement, bank statement and 3 months recent payslip in order for us to have proof of the length of time you are staying in the country are in line with the rules and regulations.
For secured loans, a foreigner can obtain a loan of any amount. For unsecured loans, if the foreigner’s annual income is less than $10,000, the maximum loan amount that Bugis Credit can offer is $500.
If the foreigner’s annual income is above $10,000 but less than $20,000, the maximum loan amount that Bugis Credit can offer is $3,000.
Lastly, if your annual income is above $20,000, the maximum loan amount that Bugis Credit can offer is 6 times of your monthly income.
Bugis Credit can charge only a maximum of 4% per month. This cap applies regardless of your income and whether the loan is an unsecured or secured one.
If a foreigner fails to repay the loan on time, the maximum rate of late interest that Bugis Credit can charge is 4% per month for each month the loan is repaid late.
